The special feature of the weapon, which was introduced as early as 1911, is above all its new Browning breech technology, named after the inventor. It was groundbreaking and is still used today for many handguns. The Colt 1911 Softair represents a virtually indestructible instrument that was the ordnance pistol of the U.S. Army since 1911 and remained in use until the 1980s.

The .45 ACP caliber semi-automatic pistol withstands even the greatest stresses, such as very high velocity firing, dirt and water, and continues its service without major failures. Several modifications have been made over the decades. Moreover, it is built not only by the actual manufacturer Colt Defense, but also by numerous other gun manufacturers.
